What’s new:

1. Custom Messages on Device

Show custom messages directly on Metafoodx devices. Use them for quick training reminders, shift communication, or to highlight sustainability impact - without slowing down scanning.

2. Sustainability Report

This report turns food waste reduction into clear, easy-to-understand impact numbers. It’s simple to review, share, and use when talking with leadership or sustainability teams.

Using custom messages during a shift

Keep each message short and tied to a task the team can act on. A reminder about recording returned pans can help reinforce an established workflow. A shift note can point staff to the person responsible for reviewing the day’s records. These are examples of how a kitchen could use the feature, rather than preset messages.

Review messages when responsibilities or procedures change. A reminder that no longer matches the work can create confusion, especially for new staff. Agree on the wording with the shift lead and give the team a clear way to ask questions.

Sharing sustainability results with context

Before sharing a Sustainability Report, identify the reporting period and the food data behind it. If you compare periods, explain whether the number of diners, menu, and measurement coverage changed.

Keep measured food quantities distinct from calculated environmental impact. Include the method and assumptions when presenting impact estimates to leadership. That helps a sustainability team understand what was measured and what was calculated.
